What Size Water Bottle Should You Get?

500ml for everyday carry, 1000ml for fewer refills — here's how to choose.

The simplest size guide: a 500ml (about 17oz) bottle is the everyday carry size — light, fits cup holders and bags, easy to refill — while a 1000ml (about 34oz) bottle means fewer refills and suits full days out, hot weather, or anyone who just drinks a lot of water.

Think about your day rather than a number. If you're commuting, at a desk near a tap, or want something pocketable, 500ml is plenty and easy to carry. If you're hiking, traveling, working somewhere without easy refills, or trying to up your intake, the larger size saves trips. Some people keep both: the smaller one for daily errands, the larger for long days. Either way, an insulated steel bottle keeps the water cold the whole time. More in non-toxic water bottles.

Try the Steely vacuum flask in 500ml or 1000ml.
