What Is a "Free-From" Standard?
A "free-from" standard means defining a product line by what it deliberately leaves out, and being transparent about it. For Better Human Goods, that means a consistent preference against endocrine-disrupting plastics where avoidable, undisclosed synthetic fragrance, ultra-processed fillers, and cheap throwaway materials — in favor of glass, stainless steel, natural fibers, and short, readable ingredient lists.
We try to keep this honest rather than fear-based. We're not claiming everything else is dangerous or that our products treat or prevent anything. The idea is simpler: for the things that touch your food, skin, and air every day, choose well-understood materials and transparent ingredients, and make those choices easy to make once. That's the whole standard — one consistent bar applied across every category, so you don't have to research each purchase from scratch. More in our free-from standard page.
