Is cork actually eco-friendly? Largely yes — and the reason is how it's harvested. Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree, and the bark is stripped without cutting the tree down. The tree keeps living and regrows its bark over a period of years, so the same tree can be harvested repeatedly over its long life. That makes cork a renewable material rather than a one-time resource.

Cork is also natural and biodegradable, so a cork tool has a cleaner end-of-life story than plastic foam, which lingers. For people choosing recovery and yoga gear, that's a meaningful difference from EVA or PVC foam. As with any product, "eco-friendly" is relative and depends on the whole supply chain, but cork's renewable harvest is a genuine point in its favor. More in cork yoga & massage tools.
